Hello Tokyo 2020! Where will the Olympic game be held? Jingu-gaien & Odaiba area will be under construction!

This is National Stadium in Tokyo where The Olympic game was held in 1964. As IOC decided that Tokyo is going to host the Olympic game in 2020, we have to demolish this 60-years-old stadium this coming July. OMG!! I have so many best memories here so this place made me feel so nostalgic. They will close here this year and complete to build new one by 2019 a year before the Olympic game opens. The capacity of new one will be 80000. It is absolutely for the opening ceremony. Good bye my favorite stadium ever!! BTW, this pic is University Rugby match, my univ Meiji VS Waseda on December 1st. 60000 seats were full. People came to watch the traditional game, last game at this stadium . So I’ll leave the information here about the venue where Olympic games will be held in 2020.

This is outside of National Stadium. This area called Meiji Jingu Gaien area. Many national sports facility are gathered around this area including Tokyo Gymnasium, Truck course, and Fitness Gym, Teniss Court ect…

The venue for Tokyo Big6 University Baseball League games and other renowned event, Jingu Stadium is hallowed ground for student ball players. This stadium is also the home field of Tokyo Yakult Swallows, professional baseball league and attracts large numbers of spectator. Long time ago, I used to work here as a security person! haha. That is why this place is very special for me. From its color, age and looks, the stadium reminds me of Dodger Stadium. Very old and historical stadium in Tokyo.It worth visiting. In summer annual Jingu Gaien Firework Festival will be held here.

Changing trains, I’m heading for ODAIBA, urban and contemporary area. After living in LA for 9 years, even me it’s hard to catch up these drastic changes around ODAIBA area. For 2020, we will start building many stadiums in this area. and Tsukiji market are moving in next year. In 2020, instead of Jingu Gaien, ODAIBA will be the new venue. The bridge in the picture above is called Rainbow bridge which is popular location for Japanese movie and TVdrama series.
