Can I rely on the small white stone to find LOVE?

Every morning around 8am, Hikawa Jinja Shrine gives out free 20 small stones (see picture above) to girls who want to find LOVE. Only 20 people can get this small white stones as an amulet. Hikawa Jinja is known as an “en-musubi” shrine where people visit to pray for good luck on finding love.

The history of Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine dates back to the 6th century. In 1956, the Main Shrine and other historical buildings that pass on Edo culture were registered as designated cultural properties of Saitama Prefecture. Known for enshrining the god of married couples, it is believed to be the “God of Marriage” and many couples can be seen holding weddings every year. If you are lucky, you may be able to see a bride wearing a shiromuku, a pure white kimono. Within the shrine grounds full of greenery, not only will you see visitors coming to pray but also local people who come to relax and enjoy the four seasons.

Before you pray at any shrine, you will stop by at the fountain area to wash your hands meaning to clean yourself.

The front path to the shrine is filled with omikuji. Omikuji is random fortunes written on strips of paper. After drop $1 into the wooden box, you can randomly choose one from a box, hoping for the resulting fortune to be good. Then, if you don’t like the result, you fold it on the poll and leave it there.
