8 is my favorite number!

What is your favorite number? Today, finally I got a new bag that I’ve wanted for years. It’s called “8” bag. 8 is my favorite number and the bag has big 8 on the center! 8 has good meaning for me and Japan, China, and many Asian countries. We consider 8 as a lucky number and have own great meanings.

On the back of this 8 bag, there are 2 lines with zips diagonally. It shows 八 (8) in Japanese character. Can you read 八? Eight gives an idea of growing prosperous, because the letter broadens gradually as you see the picture above. How cool the bag is!!
This is what I didn’t know about 8 but it’s from Wiki. “The Japanese thought eight (や ya?) as a holy number in the ancient times. The reason is less well understood, but it is thought that it is related to the fact they used eight to express large numbers vaguely such as manyfold (やえはたえ Yae Hatae?) (literally, eightfold and twentyfold), many clouds (やくも Yakumo?) (literally, eight clouds), millions and millions of Gods (やおよろずのかみ Yaoyorozu no Kami?) (literally, eight millions of Gods), etc. It is also guessed that the ancient Japanese gave importance to pairs, so some researchers guess twice as four (よ yo?), which is also guessed to be a holy number in those times because it indicates the world (north, south, east, and west) might be considered a very holy number.” It sounds interesting!!
Another reason why eight is important for me is YOGA. Yoga has 8 limbs.Yoga Sutra is an eight limbs path that forms the structual framework for yoga practice.
If you rotate 8 to the right/left, you see ∞! Infinite! Universe!
For the future, I will use number 8 for my,,,something!!
